Baltimore's Climate Equity Action Plan update is staffed by the Office of Sustainability and guided and supported by countless residents, community leaders, and City agency partners. 

Resident Advisory Council

The Resident Advisory Council consists of 13 community members from a variety of personal and professional backgrounds who are all committed to building an equitable and sustainable future for Baltimore. 

Advisory Council members work with the Office of Sustainability Team to guide the community engagement process. 

The Commission on Sustainability

The Baltimore Commission on Sustainability is a 21-member body with 20 appointed by the Mayor and one city council representative appointed by the City Council President. 2 Sustainability Commissioners serve on the Climate Equity Action Plan Resident Advisory Council.  

 

The Commission oversees the implementation of the Baltimore Sustainability Plan, monitoring and reporting progress annually. The Commission is made up of members representing environmental groups, community organizations, labor unions, public health and environmental justice interests, and private industry.

Mayor's Sustainability and Resiliency Subcabinet

The Subcabinet is an internal advisory body comprised of city-agency staff. It is intended to promote interagency collaboration on the topics of climate change and sustainability to accelerate progress. There are 6 Working Groups of the SubCabinet: Transportation, Waste, Buildings, Flooding + Infrastructure, Heat, and Climate. The Climate Working Group is supporting the CAP Update by serving as part of the plan's Technical Advisory Committee.

Our Team

Our Climate Action Plan Team is derived from Baltimore City's Office of Sustainability. The team contains 3 Climate Outreach Interns, a Climate Community Engagement Fellow, A Climate and Resilicee Planner, and the Director of Sustainability for Baltimore City.
