This workgroup is committed to finding strategies that better connect area citizens, from all neighborhoods and backgrounds, to existing and future education, workforce  training and economic development related resources and opportunities.

Safety and cleanliness are interwoven. A poorly maintained neighborhood is often a magnet for crime, abandonment, rodent infestation, and fire-related incidents. Residents, businesses, and City agencies must work together to coordinate addressing vacancies, sanitation problems, and public safety concerns.

Create complete and self-determining communities with identifiable centers that provide all essential health, recreational, historical and cultural services that support and enrich the physical and mental well-being of all residents.

This work group will make recommendations to provide the following:

  • green, healthy, and sustainable neighborhoods

  • tree-lined streets and trails
